Pre-Employment Programs

WEST pre-employment services are available for any women, who is a visible minority or is E.I. eligible or is Canadian or non-Canadian citizen (eligible to work) who is having difficulty finding a job.

Pre-employment programs and services are funded by Human Resources Development Canada -- they include Orientation, Job Development Services, Pre-Employment Sessions.  There is no charge for these services.   

 ORIENTATION SESSION

Your first step towards finding a job.  Come to a morning workshop where you will:

• Meet WEST Job Developers who will work with you to help you find a job.
• Find out more about the services and classes WEST offers.
• Discover what barriers might be stopping you from getting a job.
• If you are interested in attending any of our classes or meeting with a Job Developer.

Every Thursday morning from 9:00am to 10:45am

   JOB DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

This consists of one-on-one job placement & employment counseling services. The WEST Job Developer works for you.  If you are looking for a paid position or need help in determining how to put previous work experience to work for you then Job Development Services:

• Provide career-counseling services

• Help you update or revamp your resume

• Work to help you find paid placement to either update your skills or give you "Canadian" work experience

• Help you determine the career path that's right for you

ALL CLIENTS MUST ATTEND OUR ORIENTATION SESSION 
BEFORE MEETING WITH A JOB DEVELOPER.

 

     PRE-EMPLOYMENT SESSIONS

Applicants must take a general English test.  Classes run Monday -- Friday, 9:00am to 12:00pm.
