Labour Market Access (LMA)

LMA, also known as Labour Market Access, is a program funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada that is designed to assist newcomers' gain access to services and training which enhance their skills and knowledge of the Canadian work environment, support job search efforts, and provide connections with local labour markets.

This free program provides the following:
  • Employment Skills Workshops
  • Work placement experience
  • Employment counselling and job search assistance
Program Eligibility
  • Only permanent residents and convention refugees are eligible

 
Youth Program (EDGE2)

EDGE2, also known as The Empowered Diverse Group for Education & Employment , is a program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada that is designed to support newcomer youth gain access to services and training which enhance their skills and knowledge for labour market participation and/or community involvement, and support for social development and integration.

This free program provides the following:
  • Assistance with resume and cover letter writing
  • Access to community service opportunities
  • Assistance with Post-secondary program decisions
  • Job search assistance for after school/summer employment
  • Language and computer skills development
Program Eligibility
  • Only permanent residents and convention refugees, ages 14-25 are eligible


Mentorship Program for Newcomers

The Connect to Success Mentorship Program is a program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada that is designed to connect newcomers' with the support and influence of professionals within their immediate community to enhance knowledge of sector specific language and of Canadian workplace practices to improve employability.

Public Speaking for Newcomers

Public Speaking for Newcomers, is a program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada that is designed to assist newcomers' enhance their skills, knowledge and confidence in speaking to enable participation in public speaking, and in public and social engagements.
