Ruba Bhattacharjee, a life-long learner, was born in Bangladesh and migrated to Canada after completing a Bachelor's degree in Social Science. Once in Canada, Ruba attended
WEST for language training, computer training and job search skills.
In early 2000, after completing her training, Ruba participated in a volunteer placement with the University of Windsor - Leddy Library. She was later hired as a part-time Shelver. During this time, Ruba completed additional upgrading courses in order to attend the Business Administration program at University of Windsor. Ruba has continued to work toward completing her undergraduate degree and, as of 2005, works full-time at the University of Windsor as a Library Clerk.
As Ruba's Supervisor sums it up, "Any woman who comes to a new country, learns a new language, successfully acquires a job where she is both capable and valued and is financially independent, has achieved some significant success."
