Sally Zeng, an internationally trained Accountant, joined
WEST in 2001 for language classes. After 3 years of language training, Sally started her job search with the help of
WEST job development services. Sally was committed to continuing in the field of accounting and decided to participate in a volunteer placement to gain Canadian work experience.
While
WEST staff worked to secure a volunteer position for Sally, she received an offer for temporary employment, which would provide some Canadian work experience. Sally had to make a difficult decision and she chose to volunteer. She was placed at the City of Windsor's Park and Recreational Department as a volunteer for several months. She then went on to work as a temporary clerk and as of 2005, Sally became a full-time intermediate clerk in the Department of Social and Health Services.
Through sacrifice, commitment and hard work,Sally Zeng's journey brought her success. She continues to progress steadily towardher personal goals, continuously upgrading her skills.
