The Employment Service department delivers customized support to individuals to aid them in conducting a successful job search. Qualified Job Developers/Employment Counsellors will work with individuals to help them find a job and/or career matching with their skills and goals. Resources are available to assist with career exploration, writing a cover letter and resume, as well as local labour market information.
The Employment Service Department offers individuals:
- Information on training requirements for different occupations
- Individualized needs assessment, counselling and coaching
- Assistance with preparation of resumes, cover letters and job applications, interview and job search strategies
- Information about language and credential assessments
- Job preparation sessions covering essential information
- Access to hidden job market and/or job leads
- Placement opportunities (with and without incentives)
- Employment support dollars to individuals with financial barriers
- Mentoring and coaching support available during and after the placement
- Second career exploration
Program Eligibility Requirements:
Unemployed
Out of school or training
Legally entitled to work in Canada
